Back in Ithaca's home sweet home. The reading was pretty good, although there were a few problems with the acoustics; it's a lovely space, though. I think next time I play a bar/restaurant I need to bring some poems specifically attuned to the occasion. Something a little more hip-hop: the really rhythmic stuff worked, but the more abstract, thinky work just didn't get across. After I read, Peter Markus told some strange and elemental fables with iconic characters: "Us Brothers," "Father," "Boy," "Girl," and "Mud." (Yes, Mud's a character.)

My thanks to Matt for his beautiful introduction, and to him and his wife Katie both for their services rendered to poetry.
