Depressed. Can't go into details about it, but some efforts at community building here in Ithaca have backfired seriously—paved with good intentions and all that. It's literally incredible to me that I could be perceived as a threat by anyone, but I guess that it's naive in the extreme for me to expect that everyone will take my good faith on face value. I need a thicker skin and keener ears for this business, sadly.
